A school operations platform integrating RFID/PIN attendance, academic administration, parent access, permissions, student e-wallet, canteen POS, top-ups, reconciliation, and reporting in one web system.

MTsN 2 Kediri — Integrated RFID Attendance, Academic & Digital Canteen System
Business Problem

School operations involve many connected processes: student and teacher attendance, class management, parent access, leave requests, canteen transactions, student balances, and operational reporting.

The system needs to manage these processes on a shared data foundation while remaining practical for administrators, teachers, students, parents, operators, and canteen staff.

Existing Process

The solution is designed to connect workflows that are operationally different but rely on the same core data. A student identity is used not only for academic records, but also RFID/PIN authentication, attendance, e-wallet activity, canteen purchases, and parent access.

Instead of separate disconnected applications, the platform connects school modules through consistent student, teacher, class, account, and transaction data.

Solution

RFID & PIN Attendance Kiosk

MTsN 2 Kediri provides a self-service attendance kiosk supporting RFID cards and PIN authentication. The kiosk shows scan status and recent attendance so arrival and departure can be handled from a unified touchpoint.

One Platform for School Operations

The Laravel backend connects academic administration, attendance, student e-wallet, canteen transactions, leave requests, parent access, reconciliation, and reporting in a role-based application.

Modules Developed
  • Multi-method authentication: RFID, PIN, username, email, and parent accounts.
  • Attendance: RFID/PIN kiosk, student and teacher attendance, history, class summaries, and period filters.
  • Academics: school years, classes, student placement, grade promotion, and homeroom assignments.
  • User master data: students, teachers, operational users, imports, synchronization, and access resets.
  • Student portal: dashboard, attendance history, canteen purchase history, wallet, leave requests, and password management.
  • Parent portal: dashboard, child linkage, attendance, canteen spending, and leave requests.
  • Leave workflow: requests from students/parents with teacher/operator approvals.
  • Student e-wallet: balance, mutations, top-ups, and cash withdrawals.
  • Digital canteen: POS, products, stalls, sellers, orders, and transaction history.
  • Profit sharing & reconciliation: cooperative/canteen sharing rules and daily reconciliation.
  • Reporting: attendance and canteen reports with PDF/Excel exports.
Integrations
  • RFID card reader/input for authentication and attendance.
  • PIN as an alternative authentication method for kiosk and login workflows.
  • Integrated student, teacher, class, parent, wallet, and transaction data.
  • PDF and Excel report exports for administration.
  • Responsive web interfaces for kiosk, operational desktop use, and mobile access.
Implementation

Role-Based Access

The login interface supports multiple authentication paths so each user type can enter the system through the workflow appropriate to their operational role.

The architecture is centered on Laravel with role-specific modules for Admin, Teacher, Student, Parent, Operator, and Cashier/Canteen. Routes and controllers are separated by function while core data remains integrated.

Business Impact

The platform provides an integrated operational foundation spanning student attendance, canteen transactions, and academic administration. Each school role works with the same system and shared data model instead of maintaining separate applications for attendance, student balances, canteen operations, and reporting.

This case study does not claim unmeasured savings or performance improvements; it focuses on operational capabilities that are implemented and running in production.
